Vamana

Vamana is a medicated emesis procedure which removes Kapha dosha collected in the body. This is given to people with high Kapha imbalance.

This treatment is beneficial in diseases e.g. asthma, cough and Psoriasis.

Aggravated kapha dosha from shakha (body extremities) are brought into the koshtha (abdomen) which are removed out from the body through induced vomiting under medical supervision i.e. Vamana.

Virechana

Virechana is medicated purgation procedure which removes Pitta dosha from the body that are accumulated in the body. It completely cleanses the gastro-intestinal tract and vital organs.

It is extremely beneficial in Pitta disorders predominantly such as kushtha(Skin diseases), amlapitta(heartburn) and other specific disorders.

Basti

Basti (Enema) is considered as the important of all Panchakarma treatments. It cleanses the accumulated all the tridoshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Basti plays important role as a rejuvenating treatment. Medicated oil or ghee and an herbal decoction is given in the form of basti.

It is used to treat constipation(Baddhkoshth), vatavyadhis(neurological ailments), paralysis, flatulence, katishool (backache), vatarakta(gout) and amvata(rheumatism).

Nasya

Nasya involves administration of medicated oil or ghee through the nostrils to remove accumulated dosha from the head, neck and shoulder region.

It is benificial for most of the nose, ear, eye diseases. It improves the health of sense organs. It is used in sinusitis, greying of hair etc.

Raktamokshana

Raktamokshana is a procedure to cleanse the blood by various ways. Leach therapy is one of the part of this procedure. It is highly beneficial in skin diseases such as dermititis, ringworm manifestation etc.

Kriyakalpa

These are the therapeutic procedures specially used to treat eye disorders. These are the unique procedures explained in Ayurved. These kriyakalpa extremely benificial to subside eye diseases very fast.

Tarpan

Tarpan is one of the ocular therapeutic procedure which provide nourishment to the eyes. In this medicated ghee is kept over the eyes for specific duration.

It is used in Diminution of vision, eye fatigue, dryness of eyes, retinal diseases like retinitis pigmentosa, age related macular degeneration.

Putapaka

Putapaka is similar to the tarpan procedure in which medicine prepared by putpaka vidhi is used.

This procedure is generally done after tarpan which strengthen the eyes.

Anjanam

Anjanam (collyrium) is the procedure of the applying medicine in to the internal surface of the eyelid which sharpens vision. subsides itching of eyes and eliminates vitiated Dosha. It is used as daily regimen. It is generally used in pterygium like diseases.

Aschoyotana

Aschoyotana (eye drops) Installation of medicine drop by drop in to the eyes. Parisheka in this procedure medicine is poured on the eyes for specific duration. It is benificial in itching and burning conditions.

Bidalaka

Bidalaka procedure includes application of medicated paste on eyelids externally. It is benificial in eye lid swelling, asthenopia etc.

Pindi

Pindi procedure involves bandaging the eyes with medicines. This procedure helps to treat most of the painful conditions of eyes.
